Clutch: Service and Repair


EXC. EAGLE
1. Remove transmission as described under Transmission, Replace.
2. Remove clutch housing to engine attaching bolts, then the clutch housing.
3. Remove throwout bearing, then mark pressure plate and flywheel for reassembly.
4. Remove pressure plate to flywheel attaching bolts, then remove pressure plate and clutch disc. Loosen pressure plate to flywheel bolts alternately and evenly to prevent distorting pressure plate.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Position clutch and pressure plate on flywheel and install attaching bolts finger tight. Align clutch disc using a suitable alignment tool, then tighten pressure plate attaching bolts alternately and evenly to 23 ft. lbs. Torque clutch housing to engine and transmission to clutch housing attaching bolts to 54 ft. lbs.
