Oil Level Check

The oil level of these compressors should be checked whenever refrigerant has been lost due to leakage or through normal system servicing.

SANKYO 5 CYLINDER ROTARY COMPRESSOR

When installing a replacement compressor, proceed as follows:
1. Isolate compressor from system, then remove compressor.
2. Remove oil plug from compressor, then drain refrigerant oil into a calibrated container.
3. Drain refrigerant oil from compressor to be installed.
4. Add the same amount of refrigerant oil removed from compressor to be replaced plus 1 ounce to the compressor to be installed.
5. Install drain plug, then install and purge air from compressor.

YORK
1. Connect manifold gauge set, then operate system for approximately 10 minutes or until system pressures stabilize. This will allow oil in the system to return to compressor sump.
2. Isolate compressor as outlined earlier.
3. Slowly loosen compressor oil filler plug to relieve any internal pressures in compressor. A face shield should be worn when loosening or removing oil filler plug.

4. Insert clean dipstick into filler plug hole until it bottoms in sump. Ensure keyway in shaft faces head of compressor before checking oil level.
5. Remove dipstick and measure oil level. Refer to "A/C Data Table" and add refrigerant oil as necessary. Install filler plug and O-ring.
6. Purge air from compressor.
