Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

The coolant temperature sensor is located in the thermostat housing. Ensure coolant does not contact accessory drive belt or pulleys by covering with shop towels. Flush any spilled coolant with water.

1. Drain coolant from cylinder block by removing drain plugs located behind and below exhaust manifolds and removing cap from coolant bottle.
2. Disconnect coolant temperature sensor electrical connector, then unscrew and remove sensor.
3. Reverse procedure to install. Refill and bleed cooling system.
