Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Testing and Inspection

Manifold Air Temperature (MAT) Sensor:

1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Manifold Air Temperature (MAT) Sensor.
2. Using a high impedance digital ohmmeter, measure the resistance of the sensor, comparing values received with the chart below.

3. If the sensor resistance does not match the values given above, replace the sensor.

Engine Control Unit (ECU) Connector ID:

4. Test the resistance of the wire harness between the engine control unit connector terminal "D-3" and the sensor connector terminal, and between engine control unit connector terminal "C-8" and the sensor connector terminal. Repair the harness if either resistance is greater than one ohm.
