When installing left bank pistons 1, 2 and 3, shoulder on connecting rod large end must be opposite arrow on piston crown, Fig. 11. On right bank pistons 4, 5 and 6, shoulder must be on same side as arrow on piston crown, Fig. 12.

Install left bank connecting rod/piston assemblies 1, 2 and 3 with arrow on crown of piston pointing toward crankshaft pulley end and shoulder of connecting rod pointing to flywheel end of engine. Install right bank connecting rod/piston assemblies 4, 5 and 6 with arrows on crown of piston and shoulder of connecting rod facing crankshaft pulley end of engine, Fig. 13.
