Wiper Switch: Service and Repair

FRONT

NOTE:The combination switch includes the headlight, headlight dimmer, turn signal and wiper/washer switches.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel, refer to Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair.
3. On Colt and Summit models, remove knee protector.
4. On all models, remove upper and lower column covers.
5. Remove wiring harness retaining straps, then disconnect electrical connectors.
6. Remove attaching screws, then the combination switch assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install.

REAR

1. Insert suitable tool behind switch, compress lock tab and pry switch from instrument panel. Taking care not to mar garnish or instrument panel.
2. Disconnect electrical connector and remove switch.
3. Reverse procedure to install.
