Transaxle Replacement

Remove transaxle in numbered sequence noting the following:
1. Remove battery.
2. On models with auto-cruise, remove control actuator and bracket.
3. Remove air intake hose.
4. Raise on support vehicle.
5. Drain transaxle oil.
6. Remove clutch release cylinder and clutch oil line bracket bolt, then secure at body side without disconnecting oil line coupling.
7. Disconnect tie rod end and lower ball joint.

8. Disconnect driveshaft as follows:
a. Insert pry bar between transaxle case and driveshaft then pry driveshaft from transaxle.
NOTE:
Do not pull on driveshaft, as doing so will damage inboard joint. Do not insert pry bar so deep as to damage oil seal.

b. Secure removed end of driveshaft away from transaxle.

9. Support transaxle assembly using jack, after moving transaxle to right lower away from vehicle.
10. When installing driveshaft ensure inboard joint is straight relative to transaxle.
11. Align serration, then securely insert driveshaft into transaxle.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
