Hesitates or Stalls on Acceleration

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION:

Momentary lack of response as the accelerator is pushed down. Can occur at any vehicle speed. Usually most severe when first trying to make the vehicle move, as from a stop sign. May cause the vehicle to stall if severe enough.


POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION

Poor or contaminated fuel Check for excessive alcohol content.

Recommend higher grade fuel.



Incorrect air/fuel mixture Check air/fuel ratio, (02 sensor voltage), refer to "Computers And Control Systems"

Perform injector service.

Check fuel pressure (check vacuum line and return hose).



Throttle body deposits Clean or replace throttle body as necessary
