1. Raise and support vehicle then remove rear tire and wheel assemblies.
2. Position a suitable jack under under fuel tank just forward of crossmember to help support fuel tank when crossmember is removed.
3. Remove crossmember to frame rail bolts.
4. Remove fuel tank as follows:
a. Release fuel system pressure as outlined under "Fuel System Pressure Release".
b. Drain fuel tank into a suitable container.
c. Disconnect battery ground cable.
d. Pull exhaust pipe hangers rubber insulators off mounting studs on frame rail from rear of vehicle and front of fuel tank.
e. Place alignment marks on fuel filler hose, filler tube vent hose and vent tube then remove fuel filler and vent hoses.
f. Disconnect fuel supply tube from fuel filter then the fuel return and vent tube near fuel filter.
g. Disconnect both ends of stabilizer bar from links.
h. Mark position of crossmember on frame rails.
i. Pull crossmember down until it stops.
j. Loosen, do not remove, stabilizer mounting bracket bolts, then remove heat shield and fuel tank strap.
k. Disconnect fuel pump module as outlined under "Fuel Pump, Replace" in the "3.3L/V6-201 Engine" or the "3.5L/V6-215 Engine" section.
l. Slightly lower front of fuel tank then slide tank away from crossmember while pushing filler vent and fill tube over crossmember.
m. Lower tank from vehicle.
5. Remove stabilizer bar and isolator bushings as an assembly from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install, aligning marks made during removal.
