Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Service and Repair

Proportioning Valve:






REMOVE
1. Raise vehicle using a frame contact type host or correctly supported on jackstands.
2. Remove the proportioning valve from the chassis brake tubes.

INSTALL
1. Install the proportioning valve in the chassis brake tube and hand tighten tube nuts until fully seated into proportioning valve. Tighten the tube nuts to a torque of 17 Nm (145 in. lbs.).
2. Bleed the affected brake line. Refer to Brakes Service and Repair for proper bleeding procedure.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Road test vehicle to ensure the proper operation of the brake system.
