Parking Brake System: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE

Winding Park Brake Sector Spring:

1. Insert a 1/4 in. drive ratchet and extension into the 1/4 in. square hole located in the sector of park brake pedal mechanism.
2. Pull on ratchet and extension, rotating sector toward rear of vehicle until the hole in the sector is aligned with the two holes in the bracket of the park brake pedal assembly.

Locking Pin Installed In Park Brake Mechanism:

3. Insert a 1/8 inch allen wrench through the two holes in the park brake pedal bracket and the sector locking the sector in place.
