Whenever an idle emissions test if performed, the following procedure should be performed to assure accurate measurements are obtained:


^ The engine must be at normal operating temperature and the cooling system pressurized.

^ Precede any idle emissions measurement by turning off ignition, re-starting and operating engine at 2500 RPM for 30 seconds.

^ Finally, measure idle emission within 30 seconds after returning engine speed to idle.
