The 6.9L Diesel engine offset specification for the dynamic timing meter was not mentioned in the "Setting Injection Timing - Dynamic Timing" diagnostic on page 25-8, Section 25 of the 1983 Car/Truck Shop Manual - Emission Diagnostic - Engine/Electronics. Step 4 of the diagnostic should read as follows: "Connect the dynamic timing meter to the battery and adjust the offset to - 20~ on the meter. NOTE: Insure that all wire leads are located away from the front accessory drive belts."
These instructions, including the offset adjustment for setting injection timing, are part of the Dynamic Timing Meter Kit, Rotunda 78-0100.
