The Engine Performance and Glow Plug Control System diagnostic guides for the 2.2L diesel engine are located on pages 22-09-10 through 22-09-19 of the 2.2L Diesel Engine Section in the 1983 Ranger Truck Shop Manual. No diagnostic charts have to be filled out when analyzing an engine concern.

The 6.9L diesel engine performance and glow plug control system diagnostic guides are found in Section 25 of the 1983 Car/Truck Shop Manual - Emission Diagnosis - Engine/Electronics. This section should be used in conjunction with the Engine Performance and Glow Plug Control System diagnostic charts covered in the December 10, 1982 6.9L diesel engine dealer letter.
