Blower Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable (two grounded cables on diesel engines).
2. If applicable, remove emission control module forward of blower motor.
3. Remove air cleaner and solenoid box cover in front of blower motor, if so equipped.
4. Remove vacuum reservoir and washer in front of blower motor, if so equipped.
5. On models equipped with 4-140 EFI and V6-179 EFI engines, remove air cleaner in front of blower motor.
6. On all models, disconnect electrical connector from blower motor.
7. Disconnect blower motor cooling tube at blower motor.
8. Remove blower motor attaching screws, then the blower motor from the heater blower assembly, Fig. 10.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
