CALIBRATIONS: 5-71J-R00 and 5-72J-R00, R01

Vehicles with the above calibrations that exhibit a poor performance condition may be corrected by advance timing and changing the choke cap.

On calibration 5-71J-R00: Increase initial timing from 6~BTDC to 10~BTDC.

On calibration 5-72J-R00, R01: increase initial timing from 8~BTDC to 12~BTDC, remove the production choke cap, and install "EB" choke cap E3PZ-9848-F.

Authorized Modifications Decal:

Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover with a clear plastic decal shield.
