SUBJECT: Emissions Recall 90E94 - Exhaust System Catalyst Replacement on Certain 1984 and 1985-Model 49-States 5.0L Engine Equipped Passenger Cars (There are some California Mark VII owners that will be notified).


AFFECTED VEHICLES All 1984 and 1985-Model 49-States Thunder-
bird/Cougar, Mustang/Capri, LTD,
Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis, Town Car,
Continental and Mark VII having one of the
following engine calibration codes:

4-22A-Rl3 Mustang/Capri/LTD

4-22B-R00 Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis/
4-22C-R00 Town Car

4-22H-R00 Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis

4-22D-R10 Continental/Mark VII

4-22F-R00/R10 Thunderbird/Cougar


REASONS FOR The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
RECALL and Ford have conducted in-use vehicle
emissions tests and have determined that
the vehicles may be releasing hydrocarbon
exhaust emissions which exceed standards.


SERVICE ACTION Cars returned for service will have exhaust
system catalysts replaced at no-charge.
