Blower Motor: Service and Repair




Standard Heater
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner and/or air inlet duct, if necessary.
3. Remove vacuum reservoir-to-blower housing attaching screws, then position reservoir aside.
4. Disconnect electrical connector and ventilation tube from blower motor.






5. Remove blower motor-to-housing attaching screws, position ventilation tube aside and remove blower motor from housing, Fig. 29.


6. Reverse procedure to install, using new gasket and sealer as required.

Auxiliary Heater
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove first seat behind driver, if equipped.
3. Remove access cover attaching screws and the cover.
4. Remove solenoid bracket attaching screws, then disconnect electrical connector and ventilation tube from blower motor.



5. Remove blower motor mounting plate attaching screws, then separate blower motor and wheel assembly from housing, Fig. 29.


6. Remove wheel assembly from motor shaft, then separate blower motor from mounting plate.
7. Reverse procedure to install, using new flange seal as required.
