LEAKS - WATER - BODYSIDE AND LIFTGATE MODULAR WINDOWS

LIGHT TRUCK 1986-87 AEROSTAR

Water leaks around the perimeter of modular windows can be corrected using (E69Z-19562-A) seal material and the following procedure.

Remove window module assembly and thoroughly clean window module and flange opening of old sealing material. Apply a continuous strip of 8x8 mm seal material to the back of the window module or the window opening flange.

NOTE: The start/stop joint of the seal should be at the bottom of the opening and overlap 25- 50 mm (6-12 inches). Removal and installation procedures should be followed as shown in 1986-87 Shop Manual procedures, Section 72-08.
