1. Disconnect battery ground cables.
2. On E-250---350 models, remove engine cover.
3. On all models, remove air cleaner and place a suitable cover over intake manifold opening.
4. On E-250---350 models, disconnect fuel inlet and return lines from fuel filter, then remove fuel filter and bracket as an assembly.
5. On all models, remove injection pump as described under ``Injection Pump, Replace.''
6. On F-250---350 models, disconnect fuel return lines from rear injection nozzles and remove return lines to fuel tank.
7. On all models, disconnect engine harness ground wire from rear left of cylinder head, then remove engine wiring harness from engine.
8. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts and the intake manifold, Fig. 4.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching bolts to specifications in sequence shown in Fig. 5.
