Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair




1. Discharge refrigerant from system at service access gauge port valve located on the suction line.
2. Drain coolant from radiator and close drain cock.
3. Remove battery and heat shield from vehicle.

4. Disconnect refrigerant line fittings on the right side of radiator, Fig. 2.
5. Remove two fan shroud attaching screws, then position fan shroud rearward.
6. Disconnect upper hose from radiator.
7. Remove the two radiator retaining clamps and tilt radiator rearward.

8. Remove two screws attaching the top of the condenser to radiator support, Fig. 3.
9. Lift condenser from vehicle and cap refrigerant lines to prevent entry of dirt and excessive moisture.
