Fuel Door Remote Control Cover - Burrs

TRIM - INTERIOR - BURR ON FUEL FILLER DOOR REMOTE CONTROL COVER

Article No. 88-2-1

FORD: 1988 TAURUS

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1988 SABLE


ISSUE: A burr on the fuel filler door remote control cover under the latch handle may be caused by flash left on the cover during the moulding process.

ACTION: To correct this, remove the burr from the fuel filler door remote control cover using the following service procedure.

1. Remove the pin and screw that holds the fuel filler door remote control cover to the release assembly.

2. Remove the fuel filler door remote control cover.

3. Remove the burr with a file, Figure 1.

NOTE: Round the edge of the cover after removing the burr.

4. Reposition the fuel filler door remote control cover.

5. Reinstall the pin and screw that holds the fuel filler door remote control cover to the release assembly.
