Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove two screws attaching steering column opening cover to instrument panel and remove cover.
3. Remove two nuts and bolts attaching diverter and remove diverter.
4. Rotate external flasher 90° counterclockwise and remove from air bag monitor assembly mounting bracket.
5. Disconnect air bag monitor assembly electrical wiring connectors.
6. Remove two screws attaching air bag monitor and bracket assembly to instrument panel brace and remove assembly.
7. Remove two screws attaching monitor assembly to bracket.
8. Reverse procedure to install, torquing diverter attaching nuts and bolts to 5---8 ft. lbs.
