Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair
Except GT
1. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Remove air pump if equipped.
3. Remove suction hose.
4. Disconnect accumulator/dryer inlet tube from evaporator core outlet.
5. Disconnect wire harness connector from pressure switch on top of accumulator/dryer.
6. Remove two screws attaching two strap clamps to accumulator bracket and remove accumulator/dryer.
7. Reverse procedure to install using new O-rings.
8. Leak test, evacuate and charge system.

1. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Remove fuel filter bracket and move fuel filter to one side. Do not disconnect fuel lines.
3. Disconnect accumulator/dryer and hose assembly, Fig. 2, from evaporator core and compressor manifold.
4. Disconnect liquid line from evaporator core.
5. Remove accumulator/dryer top retaining nut.
6. Raise and support vehicle.
7. Disconnect catalytic converter and backfire hose and move to one side.
8. Drain engine coolant and disconnect lower heater hose.
9. Loosen steel heater tube bracket.
10. Remove accumulator/dryer mounting bracket lower retaining screw and remove bracket.
11. Remove accumulator/dryer and hose assembly.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
13. Leak test, evacuate and charge system.
