Blower Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain coolant from radiator.
2. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core and plug heater core tubes.
3. Remove instrument panel as described previously.
4. Remove instrument panel center brace from cowl top panel.
5. Remove nut attaching heater case top support to heater case, Fig. 12.
6. Working in engine compartment, remove two washer nuts attaching heater case to dash panel.
7. Loosen sound insulation from cowl top panel in area around air inlet opening.
8. Pull heater case assembly away from dash panel to disengage studs and remove case assembly from vehicle.
9. Remove three screws attaching air inlet duct assembly to heater case assembly, then remove air inlet duct.
10. Remove pushnut from blower wheel hub.
11. Pull blower wheel from blower motor shaft.
12. Remove three blower motor flange attaching screws located inside blower housing.
13. Pull blower motor out of housing and disconnect blower motor electrical connector.
14. Reverse procedure to install.
