Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge refrigerant system and remove compressor drive belts.
3. Disconnect clutch coil wire, then the suction and discharge fittings from compressor.
4. Cap open fitting immediately to keep moisture out of system.
5. Remove mounting bolts and compressor.
6. If a new compressor is being installed, drain 1.2 fluid ounces of refrigerant oil from compressor, then reverse procedure to install.
