Coolant Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Service and Repair

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SWITCH


The cooling fan will run if the coolant temperature switch wire is disconnected, with the ignition switch in the Run position. Ensure ignition switch is in the Off position prior to disconnecting wire.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2. Disconnect switch connector.
3. Remove switch from thermostat housing.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Coat switch threads with pipe sealant containing Teflon.
