Compressor





1. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Disconnect compressor clutch wires from field coil connector on compressor.
3. Disconnect discharge and suction hoses from compressor manifolds.
4. Cap refrigerant lines and compressor manifolds to prevent contamination.
5. Remove compressor drive belt.
6. Loosen support bracket-to-engine attaching nuts and support bracket-to-rear brace attaching screw.
7. Remove two compressor mounting lug-to-engine bracket attaching screws and one compressor mounting lug-to-support bracket attaching screw.
8. Rotate compressor until upper mounting lug clears support.

1. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Disconnect compressor clutch wires from the field coil connector on compressor.
3. Disconnect discharge suction hoses from the compressor manifolds. Cap refrigerant lines and compressor manifolds to prevent the entrance of dirt and moisture.
4. Remove screw and washer assembly from the adjusting bracket, Fig. 53.
5. Rotate compressor outboard and remove drive belts.
6. Remove compressor mounting bolt attaching bracket to compressor lower mounting lug.
7. Remove compressor and adjusting bracket as an assembly.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
