EEC IV QUICK TEST (KOER) - 3.0L - SERVICE CODE "41/173" STORED IN KEEP ALIVE MEMORY (KAM) - VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE


FORD: 1990-91 PROBE


ISSUE: Performing a Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test may generate a false Continuous Memory Code 41/173.

ACTION: After completing service that requires running a KOER Self-Test, disconnect the negative battery cable for a minimum of five (5) minutes. This will clear the Keep Alive Memory (KAM).


Inform the customer that it may be necessary to drive the vehicle 10 miles or more to allow the processor to relearn values for optimum driveability and performance.
