SUBJECT: Emissions Recall 91E08 Electronic Engine Control (EEC) Processor Replacement on Certain 1990-Model Probes


AFFECTED VEHICLES 1990-model 49-States and Canadian Probes equipped
with 3.0L engines having calibration code 0-10B-R00 and automatic transmissions.

REASONS FOR RECALL A Ford in-house compliance test program has
revealed that engines in some of the affected cars may be releasing levels of carbon monoxide (CO) that exceed Federal and Canadian exhaust emission standards.

SERVICE ACTION Probes returned for service will have the electronic
engine control (EEC) processor replaced and Authorized Modifications and Special Service Information decals attached.
