Control Assembly: Service and Repair

Manual A/C System
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove I/P finish applique.
2. Remove four control panel assembly-to-I/P attaching screws, Fig. 17.
3. Pull control assembly away from I/P, then disconnect electrical connectors, vacuum harness and temperature control cable from the assembly.
4. Remove control assembly from I/P.
5. Reverse procedure to install.

Electronic Automatic Temperature Control System
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Pull out lower I/P snap-on inserts from both sides, then remove upper finish panel attaching screws, Fig. 15.
3. Pull lower edge of upper finish panel away from I/P.
4. Remove four Torx screws from control head.
5. Pull control head away from I/P, then disconnect two harness connectors from head assembly.
6. Remove vacuum harness retaining nuts, then separate control panel from I/P.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
