UPDATED REAR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY:




The rear support assembly (Figure 1) has two bushings in the inside bore.

Between these two bushings is a lube hole that allows lubrication to reach the planetaries.

Always closely inspect the bushings for wear, and to be sure that one, or both, has not moved out of position.

In 1988 and later, the rear support assembly has a one-piece bushing with a hole in the center to allow lubrication to flow to the planetaries. This later design rear support will retrofit the earlier transmissions.

Part number for the 1988-up rear support assembly is E6DZ-7A130-A.
