Shifter A/T: Adjustments

P-R-N-D-L INDICATOR CABLE ADJUST - WITH AXOD AND AXOD-E
1. Remove steering column tilt release lever attaching screw if equipped.
2. Remove ignition lock cylinder.
3. Remove steering column upper and lower shrouds.
4. Place shift lever in OD position, a 3 lb weight should be hung from shift lever to ensure lever is firmly in OD detent.
5. On all models except Continental, loosen P-R-N-D-L cable at attaching hex head screw, then adjust until pointer is centered on OD. Torque cable hex head attaching screw to 18-30 in lb.
6. On Continental, adjust cable with adjustment wheel, until P-R-N-D-L indicator completely covers OD and calibration dots show no red.
7. On all models, cycle shift lever through all positions, ensuring pointer is correctly centered in each position.
8. Install shrouds, torque attaching screws to 6-10 in lbs.
9. Install ignition look cylinder.
10. Install tilt release lever, if equipped, torque attaching screw to 40-57 in lbs.
