Control Assembly: Service and Repair



1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove LH and RH instrument panel molding assemblies.
3. Remove cluster finish panel screws and six screws along top surface of cluster finish panel.
4. Remove knob from headlamp auto dim switch, then remove headlamp switch shaft
5. Remove steering column close out bolster panel by removing two screws on left side, one screw on right side and three screws from the bottom.
6. Lower steering column as follows:
a. Place shift lever to ``1.''
b. Remove PRNDL/cable assembly.
c. Remove bolt from steering column PRNDL bracket.
7. Remove cluster finish panel and electrical connectors from push-button switches.
8. Remove center finish panel by removing two top screws and gently rock top back while unsnapping bottom from I/P.
9. Remove electrical connector from rear of clock.
10. Remove four screws from A/C control assembly and pull control out of I/P.
11. Remove two electrical connectors, temperature cable and vacuum connector from assembly.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
