Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

TURBO

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Oxygen (EGO) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the EGO sensor from the turbine assembly using EGO sensor wrench # TP9P-9472A or equivalent.

Exhaust Gas Oxygen (EGO) Sensor Replacement:






INSTALLATION
1. Install the EGO sensor into the turbine assembly.
2. Install the EGO wire harness onto the retaining bracket on the turbocharger heat shield retaining bracket and spark plug retaining bracket.
3. Connect EGO sensor electrical connector.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.




NON-TURBO

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Oxygen (EGO) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the EGO sensor using EGO sensor wrench # TP9P-9472A or equivalent.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the EGO sensor into the turbine assembly.
2. Connect EGO sensor electrical connector.
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
