Control Arm: Service and Repair

1. Raise, then properly support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove brake caliper, then secure to coil spring. Do not allow to hang by the brake hose.
4. Remove stabilizer bar as outlined elsewhere in this section.
5. Remove ball joint clamp bolt, then separate ball joint from steering knuckle, Fig. 14.
6. On vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle, remove harmonic damper from chassis subframe, lefthand side, Fig. 15.
7. Remove lower control arm mounting bolts, then the control arm, Fig. 16.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Tightening to specifications.
