Tachometer: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove instrument cluster.
2. Remove eight mask and lens retaining screws. Remove mask and lens.
3. Remove two screws retain transmission selector indicator or filler bezel to speedometer and remove indicator or filler bezel from cluster.
4. Pull speedometer from instrument cluster and remove speedometer.
5. Pull tachometer from electric clips and remove tachometer.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: The tachometer is calibrated at the factory. Excessive rough handling could disturb the calibration.

1. Align tachometer on guides, then press carefully and firmly to seat electrical terminals. Install speedometer.
2. Position transmission selector indicator or filler bezel and install two retaining screws.
3. Position mask and lens assembly. Install eight mask and lens retaining screws.
4. Install instrument cluster.
