EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVALWARNING: EGR components transport hot exhaust gases. Contact with hot EGR components may cause severe burns. Wear protective gloves or allow the vehicle sufficient time to cool.
EGR Components:
1. Remove the EGR valve sensor retaining clip, and disconnect the EGR sensor tube.
2. Remove the EGR mounting bolts, and remove the EGR valve and sensor. Discard the old EGR valve gasket.
3. Remove the EGR supply tube retaining bolts from the exhaust manifold, and remove the supply tube. Discard the old supply tube gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the EGR supply tube at the exhaust manifold with a new gasket. Torque the retaining screws to 15-23 Nm (11-17 lb-ft).
2. Install the EGR valve and sensor, with a new gasket. Connect the EGR valve sensor tube, and install the sensor retaining clip. Torque the mounting screws to 15-23 Nm (11-17 lb-ft).
