Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Body:

1. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor from the wiring harness.
2. Remove the TP sensor retaining screws and remove the TP sensor.
3. Install the TP sensor, then the retaining screws, torquing to 14 lbs. in. (1.5 N-m).
4. Connect the wiring harness to the TP sensor.

NOTE: The throttle position sensor is not adjustable.

5. Since the ECA will be receiving a different signal from the TP sensor, it may be necessary to adjust the idle speed. Refer to Idle Speed Adjustment for procedures.
