Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disarm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. remove four nut and washer assemblies retaining the airbag module to steering wheel.
3. Disconnect airbag electrical connector from clockspring contact connector.
4. Remove airbag module from steering wheel. Place airbag module on bench with trim cover facing up.
5. Using a small screwdriver, remove horn buttons by gently prying upward.
6. Disconnect horn wiring harness connector.
7. Remove Phillips head screws from speed control switch assemblies.
8. Disconnect speed control switches from wiring harness, then remove switches.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Torque airbag retaining nuts to 3-4 ft. lbs.
10. Reactivate airbag as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
