REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Remove the upper intake manifold assembly. Upper Intake Manifold
2. Disconnect inlet pipe from exhaust manifolds.
3. Disconnect power brake vacuum line.
4. Remove bolts retaining manifolds to cylinder head, then lift the manifolds from the engine as an assembly.
5. Remove and discard gaskets.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

NOTE: To extend exhaust manifold service life, the following manifold installation procedure should be used. Do not install a combination intake/exhaust manifold gasket on new exhaust manifolds.

a. Clean cylinder head and manifold mating surfaces.

b. Install rear exhaust manifold installing bolts in holes 16 and 15 tighten bolts to 30-43 Nm (22-32 ft lb).
c. Install front exhaust manifold and lifting eye with stud in hole 13 and bolt in hole 14 snug stud and tighten bolt to 30-43 Nm (22-32 ft lb).
d. Make sure dowel pin is in place, if missing install new one.
e. Install a new intake manifold gasket over dowel pin and line up port openings with gasket.
f. Install the lower intake manifold onto dowel pin, then install remaining exhaust and intake bolts. Tighten to 30-43 Nm (22-32 ft lb), in sequence shown.
g. Connect pipe to manifold and tighten retaining bolts to 34-53 Nm (25-38 ft lb).
