Boost Solenoid: Testing and Inspection


1. Inspection should be conducted with engine cool.

Vacuum And Pressure Tester Connection:






2. Disconnect air hose from [1][2]turbo boost control solenoid valve at compressor housing on turbocharger assembly. Connect vacuum and pressure tester.
3. Start engine and warm to operating temperature.
4. Increase engine speed to 4000 rpm and check that boost pressure is within specification.
Specification: Any positive pressure above 0 kPa (O psi).

5. Disconnect vacuum and pressure tester and reconnect air hose.

NOTE: To prevent hoses from becoming disconnected due to boost pressure, attach securely with spring clamps.
