Technician Safety Information

1. Wear appropriate eye protection.
2. To prevent burns, use caution when working near catalytic converters. Converter temperatures can exceed 1000° F.
3. When servicing the fuel system, observe the following cautions:

^ Put a "CAUTION: FLAMMABLE" sign in the workshop.
^ Furnish shop with the proper fire extinguisher.
^ Disconnect battery ground cable before any service work is done.
^ Place a suitable container under the connection to be opened.
^ Slowly open connection, allow pressure to escape, and catch spilled fuel in container.

NOTE: If available, use fuel system service valve to relieve pressure.

^ Disconnect line or hose, then plug all fittings.
^ Put drained fuel in a proper container and close securely.
