EGR Valve Position Sensor: Description and Operation
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Position Sensor (EVP):
PURPOSE
The EGR Valve Position (EVP) sensor detects EGR valve lift. The sensor provides feedback to the ECA reflecting EGR valve position and is an indication of EGR gas flow. The sensor also signals the ECA in event of an EGR electrical circuit malfunction.
LOCATION
On EGR valve.
OPERATION
The sensor is a variable resistor whose resistance changes with variations in EGR valve position.
