Oxygen Sensor

EGO sensors can be contaminated if volatile types of silicone are used when servicing the engine. Volatile silicones can migrate throughout the system during the first one hundred hours of service. They are commonly found in liquid "silicone rubber" sealants and gasket material.

When service is performed on the engine, only use new low volatility silicone sealant (F1AZ-19662-A) where specified. Also replace the contaminated EGO sensor if required.
