Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

General Testing Description

- The Quick Test (On-Board Diagnostic check) is a check of Electronic Engine Control (EEC) systems electronics, using the control module to perform diagnostic tests on itself and its circuitry.

- This capability is referred to as self test. The self test is divided into four types of testing: Key On Engine Off (KOEO), Key On Engine Running (KOER), Continuous Monitor Mode (Wiggle Test), and the Switch Monitor Test.

- The self test is not a final test by itself, but is used as a part of the Quick Test diagnostic procedure. When activated, it checks the EEC by testing its memory integrity and processing capability, and verifies various sensors and actuators are connected and operating properly.

- The EEC system DOES NOT have a specific system pass code. Unlike EEC-IV, intermittent codes are NOT erased if the fault is removed after 40 start cycles. therefore, any intermittent code will be stored in permanent memory until erased.
