Shift Linkage: Adjustments

ADJUST
1. Shift gear selector lever to Park position, then disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove shift console, then the position indicator mounting screws.
3. Disconnect illumination bulb, shift-lock servo connector and park range switch connector.
4. Remove position indicator, then loosen shift control cable bracket mounting bolts.
5. Push gear selector lever against park range and hold in place.
6. Torque shift control cable bracket mounting bolts to 69-95 in lbs.

Guide Plate And Guide Pin Clearance Inspection:






7. Lightly press gear selector push rod and ensure guide plate and guide pin clearances are within proper specifications. If clearances are not as specified, readjust shift control cable as outlined above.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
