Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
Transmission Oil Temperature (TOT) Sensor is a two wire thermistor located on the main control valve body.

OPERATION
The TOT sensor receives a voltage signal which is reduced by the resistance of the sensor in accordance with transmission fluid temperature. The signal is then sent to the Powertrain Control Module which interprets the voltage signal to determine transaxle oil temperature.
