Mainshaft: Service and Repair

DISASSEMBLE

Exploded View Of Main Shaft:

1. Press off bearing cone from fourth gear end.
2. Press off fourth gear.
3. Remove retaining ring, then press off third and second gears.
4. Remove synchronizer assembly, then the blocker ring.
5. Press off clutch hub assembly, synchronizer ring and first gear.
6. Press off bearing cone from first gear end.
7. Remove synchronizer springs and keys from clutch hub.
8. Remove clutch hub from clutch hub sleeve.

ASSEMBLE
1. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Oil all parts and gear bores with transaxle fluid.

b. When assembling synchronizers, align synchronizer ring groove and synchronizer key.
