Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Disconnect pressure switch electrical connector and remove switch from accumulator.
3. Disconnect and cap refrigerant lines from accumulator and evaporator, Fig. 2.
4. Remove screws attaching service cover and vacuum reservoir to evaporator case assembly. Remove service cover
5. Store vacuum reservoir in a secure position and remove two dash panel mounting nuts.
6. Remove evaporator core and accumulator/dryer from vehicle as an assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Use new O-ring lubricated with refrigerant oil.
8. Leak test, evacuate and charge system.
